Best League of Legends recording settings for VOD review

Updated May 16, 2026

For League VOD review, clarity and consistency matter more than extreme quality. These settings are a practical baseline for smooth 60 FPS recordings without creating unnecessarily huge files.

Recommended baseline

SettingRecommendationWhy
Resolution1080pClear enough for cooldowns, minimap, and lane details.
Frame rate60 FPSSmoother fight review and mouse/camera movement.
CodecH.264H.264 plays reliably in the app, browsers, and shared Review links.
StorageDedicated folder on a drive with free spaceLong sessions can create many files quickly.

When to use H.264

Use H.264 if you want maximum compatibility with video players, browsers, upload tools, and review workflows. This is usually the safest default.

When to lower bitrate

Use a lower H.264 bitrate or Review upload compression when you need smaller files. Test playback before relying on a setting for a full session.

Storage planning

If you record every game, storage fills faster than expected. Keep a review habit: save games worth studying, delete routine recordings, and upload only the VODs you plan to review online.

Simple ruleIf you are unsure, start with 1080p, 60 FPS, H.264, hardware encoding, and one recording folder. Adjust only after reviewing the first few files.
