League of Legends VOD review checklist
Updated May 19, 2026
A useful VOD review does not need to be long. Use a repeatable checklist, write notes, and leave with one action item for the next games.
Quick checklist
| Step | Question |
|---|---|
| 1. Review goal | What are you trying to improve this session? |
| 2. First death | What decision made the first death possible? |
| 3. Lane phase | Were recalls, waves, trades, and jungle awareness clean? |
| 4. Objective setup | Did you arrive with vision, resources, and tempo? |
| 5. Team fights | Were target selection, spacing, cooldowns, and camera control good? |
| 6. Action item | What one habit will you practice next? |
Do not review everything
Most players get more value from reviewing three strong moments than from watching a full 35-minute match without structure. Pick a theme and stay on it.
Useful review themes
Deaths
Find the decision chain before the death, not only the final mechanical mistake.
Lane
Review wave, recall, matchup trading, jungle tracking, and level timers.
Objectives
Check if setup started early enough and if resources were ready.
Team fights
Review spacing, target choice, cooldown tracking, and camera movement.
Session note: End every VOD review with one sentence: "Next session I will focus on ___." If the action item is vague, the review was not finished.
