If you've found content on RiftRec that violates our Terms or the law, this page tells you how to report it.
How to report
Option 1: In-app Report button (recommended)
The fastest way to report content is using the Report button on the clip or user profile. This logs the report directly in our system and we respond faster.
Option 2: Email us
Send a detailed report to the appropriate address below:
What to include in your report
- The exact URL or clip ID of the content
- The username of the person who uploaded it
- A clear description of why it violates our Terms or the law
- Your contact email so we can follow up
- Screenshots or other evidence (optional but helpful)
- The date and time you discovered the content

Copyright infringement (DMCA-style notice)
If you believe content on RiftRec infringes your copyright, please send a notice to abuse@riftrec.app containing:
- Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed (e.g., "My streaming gameplay from Twitch.tv/yourname dated 2026-04-01")
- Identification of the infringing material, including its URL on RiftRec
- Your contact information: name, address, telephone, email
- A statement that you have a good faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law
- A statement under penalty of perjury that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on behalf of the owner
- Your physical or electronic signature
We comply with the EU Copyright Directive and respond to legitimate notices within 48 hours.
Counter-notice
If your content was removed and you believe the takedown was wrong, you can file a counter-notice. We'll restore the content within 10–14 days unless the original complainant files a court action.
Repeat infringers
Users who repeatedly upload infringing content will have their accounts terminated. We track strikes against accounts and ban after 3 confirmed copyright violations within 12 months.
What we'll do with your report
- Acknowledge receipt within the timeframe above
- Review the content against our Terms and applicable law
- Take action: remove content, suspend the account, or escalate to authorities if illegal
- Notify the uploader (where appropriate)
- Notify you of the outcome
- Log the action for our transparency records
If you disagree with our decision
If we decline to remove content you reported, or if you believe we wrongly removed your content, you can:
- Reply to our decision email asking for human review by a different reviewer
- Contact the EU Commission's out-of-court dispute resolution body (under DSA Article 21)
- Pursue legal action through Finnish courts or your local consumer protection authority
EU Digital Services Act (DSA) compliance
RiftRec complies with the EU Digital Services Act. We provide:
- A clear notice and action mechanism (this page + in-app Report button)
- Statement of reasons for any content removal or account suspension
- Internal complaint handling system
- Out-of-court dispute resolution where applicable
- Cooperation with EU Member State authorities

For law enforcement
Law enforcement agencies should contact legal@riftrec.app for:
- Subpoenas, court orders, or other lawful requests for user data
- Emergency disclosure requests (imminent harm or risk to life)
- Evidence preservation requests
We require valid legal process for non-emergency requests. All requests are logged and reviewed by our legal team.
